The new Range Rover Sport 2018 is already a reality. The expected renewal of the Land Rover SUV has materialized and is ready to reach the dealers by the end of this year. The line of the British model receives important innovations, like a new technological equipment and some changes realized aesthetic level. One of them is the new hybrid version plug-in Range Rover Sport P400e. Set as the most environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative in the Range Rover Sport line, the new plug-in hybrid model already adopts the new Jaguar Land Rover naming system. It will take the place of the previous SDV6 hybrid diesel model. The technology used by the new Range Rover Sport P400e features an electric and a gasoline engine, which allow it to achieve superior performance with a low level of consumption and emissions. In addition, it will have a high autonomy in pure electric mode, if we take into account the weight of the vehicle and its characteristics. This new model is part of the electric offensive that Jaguar Land Rover has been working on. The hybrid system used by the Range Rover Sport P400e is made up of a 2.0 liter four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline engine with 300 hp and an electric motor of 85 kW (116 hp). Combined, the system develops a power of 404 hp and 640 Nm of maximum torque. It features a four-wheel drive system and an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. It will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in only 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 km / h. Beneath its skin, the Land Rover’s hybrid plug-in SUV features a 13.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, allowing it to set up an electric mode range of up to 51 kilometers (NEDC cycle). In addition, it is possible to choose two driving modes to adapt the operation of the hybrid system as needed:
Parallel Hybrid Mode : This is the pre-determined driving mode, since it combines the use of both engines. the driver can optimize battery charge and fuel economy by choosing one of these two load management functions: SAVE or Predictive Energy Optimization (PEO).
EV Mode : Allows the vehicle to operate exclusively with the electric motor using the energy stored in the battery. The charging socket is on the front of the vehicle, while the lithium-ion batteries are located in the rear, under the floor of the trunk. When using a fast charge, it is possible to complete the process in only 2 hours and 45 minutes. In a conventional electrical outlet, the charge will be completed in 7 hours and 30 minutes. The new Range Rover Sport P400e is already on sale at dealers. However, the first deliveries will not be made by the end of this year 2017. Its production will also be in Solihull (UK).
2018 – RANGE ROVER SPORT
Land Rover officially revealed the restyling of the Range Rover Sport. Although it is quickly recognizable, the changes found within it are very relevant. Taking a look outside the new Range Rover Sport 2018, we noticed that the appearance only underwent minor modifications. And it was partly to be expected, given the type of update that is involved. The entire range of the Range Rover Sport now has new common features. In addition to debuting a new, sharper grille, it also incorporates revised LED headlamps. The front bumper was modified and thanks to the new air intakes, improved mechanical cooling. At the rear, in addition to the new bumper, comes a new roof spoiler that adds more aggressiveness. Also added to the line are new 21- and 22-inch alloy wheels. The interior is where it is most evident that we are facing a new Range Rover Sport. Follow the line of the latest Land Rover launches, in particular the Range Rover Velar. Now features two 10-inch touch screens that are part of the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system.
The lower screen is used to control different systems, such as air conditioning. Add to that the new 12-inch digital dashboard and a new 10-inch color HUD (Head-Up Display). Another quite curious detail of the technological equipment that will be offered in the new SUV is that you can operate the electric sunroof by means of gestures. On the other hand, Land Rover designers took advantage of the occasion to introduce new themes for the interior, being able to opt for new upholstery and trim for the cabin. There is also 10-color ambient lighting in addition to the Nanoe air ionization system, which ensures a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere at all times. And as it could not be otherwise, driving assistance systems and InControl features are also present. In mechanical terms, it is undeniable that the great novelty of this restyling is the arrival of the new Range Rover Sport P400e, the hybrid version plug-in that has an electric range of 51 kilometers. For its part, the base model will be offered with a selection of diesel and gasoline engines that are characterized by their excellent relationship between performance and consumption. In this case, it is worth mentioning the arrival on the line of the new engine Si4 of 2.0 litersIngenium with 300 hp and 400 Nm of maximum torque. Total traction and the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission are still available. The top end of the line will continue to be the new Range Rover Sport SVR.

2018 – RANGE ROVER SPORT SVR
Along with the new Range Rover Sport P400e PHEV, the Jaguar Land Rover group unveiled the new Range Rover Sport SVR 2018, the sport’s newest version, which now features an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 engine that is already used by other models of the British group and presents a more aggressive and sporting image. This version was prepared by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division and in addition to several chassis improvements, the brand’s 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine sits under the hood. This block develops 575 hp and a maximum torque of 700 Nm, which means 25 hp more and allows this sport version to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.5 seconds.
Improvements to the chassis include changes in both the suspension part and the brakes, as well as some weight reduction thanks to the use of composite materials in various parts of the vehicle. One of the biggest novelties of this new version is the inclusion of carbon fiber. The SVR’s hood is made of this lightweight material, has new air intakes and the car can be ordered with a special paint finish that allows to leave the carbon fiber in the central part. Aesthetically new bumpers come in, with a deliberate more aggressive style, with new front air intakes and a lower diffuser at the rear, new side skirts and larger wheels – 21 or 22 inches. The side air vents now appear in black with a glossy finish. The emblem of the SVO division is present in various parts of the vehicle. The style of this version can be modified with several optional packages, such as an outer pack of carbon fiber that adds even more elements to the finish, such as grille, details on both bumpers, air vents and rearview mirror housings. The interior receives the usual treatment of these versions, with a lot of Windsor leather, but with a certain ‘racing’ environment. It has new Supersport lightweight seats available in double-tone coating and in addition to that, help reduce weight. The seats are heated both at the front and at the rear. Production of the new Range Rover Sport SVR 2018 will begin later this year at the Solihull plant in the UK and the first copies will be delivered before the end of 2017.
2018 – RANGE ROVER SPORT SVR PACE CAR BY KAHN
His name is Project Kahn 5.0 V8 Sport SVR Pace Car. This is the latest proposal from the British manufacturer on the Range Rover Sport SVR, the most sporty version of the line thanks to a power of 575 hp. Kahn Design presents this project as a Pace Car – a racing safety car – which according to its creators, presents a perfect combination of performance and luxury. All the work on the body was made with different ABS polymers and carbon fiber, with the aim of achieving maximum resistance and quality in the exterior finish of this preparation. The modifications start with a new front bumper along with a specific screen. Wide wheel arches also emerge, while in the rear view the most striking is an integrated exhaust diffuser that adds a more dynamic feel. The body is finished in a graycolor called Diamond Cut Satin Black and the wheels are 23 inches that allow to wear tires in the measures of 305/30. Inside there are a few touches like a leather upholstery that combines the colors black and orange, along with a perforated finish. This latest Kahn Design project is now available for £ 92,000.
2018 – RANGE ROVER VELAR BY URBAN AUTOMOTIVE
Because it was one of the last premium all-terrains to be launched, it still did not give much time for the preparers from around the world to work on the new Range Rover Velar . They will not delay in doing so, since this elder brother of the Evoque, surely will also be very successful. But the British at Urban Automotive have already taken the lead. The work done changes the aesthetics of the model with a complete body kit. The front and rear bumpers have been replaced with new carbon fiber, material that is also present in the front splittler, air inlets and rear diffuser. The LED airbags are fitted with LED daytime running lights, wide wheel arches are fitted, the body has a dark gray and black two-tone finish, a 23-inch forged wheels with a starry design, and a system exhaust with two dual outputs, which come with a black enameled finish. In addition, a variable valve system is also available to modify the sound to suit the customer. For the time being, the changes were only in the visual scope, although some kind of mechanical improvement for the future is not discarded. Today Urban Automotive offers the body kit for all versions of the model: with 2.0 diesel engines of 180 hp, 2.0 hp and 3.0 hp 3.0 hp; and the gasoline powered 2.0 from 250 hp and 3.0 from 380 hp. Urban Automotive has already announced that the production of its Velar will begin in November and that the first deliveries will take place the following month. The price of the preparation has not yet been revealed, but says they have already received 14 orders.
